What a Busy Week!

On Thursday, 2MM had a great time at Hulme Community Garden Centre learning about plant life cycles. They did some planting as part of the workshop and looked for some wildlife.

Thank you to the parent helpers for their time and helping the children gain so much from this experience.

2SK will have their trip next week.

World Book Day

What an amazing World Book Day we have had. There have been so many wonderful costumes and super comfy pyjamas!

The children have all done some work relating to the book Ocean Meets Sky by The Fan Brothers, which was presented to the whole school in assembly this afternoon. Each year group looked at a different job role relating to creating a book.

Teachers swapped classes to read to a different group, and the older children went to read with the younger children, and some parents came in as Mystery Readers to tell a story to the class.

Vouchers for the book fair were given as prizes to some of the children. The staff also had a competition which was won by Mrs Thomas as Elmer and Mr Fyson as a pirate. These were chosen by the Head Boy and Head Girl.

Here are some photos, but more will be on the website as a news gallery next week so keep an eye out

Our Year 6 children took part in the annual Co-op Academies Spelling Bee today, competing against over 30 other schools.

In our primary school division, our children took 3rd place with only one word being spelt incorrectly. They were so lovely and supportive that even other schools had come to praise them for their teamwork and support, saying that they are an inspiration to all children!

Very well done!
