Welcome from Co-op Academy New Islington

Dear Parents and Carers,

This week it has been lovely to welcome parents into classrooms for Meet the Teacher sessions and we will also be sharing some key dates for your diary in the newsletter.

Our house competition has gotten off to a strong start with attendance high and lots of dojo points being given out across school. Every house managed to earn themselves half term treats at some points last year and we want our competition to continue to be as hotly contested this year too so please encourage your children to continue to show excellent behaviour and attendance!

As always, thank you for your continued support,

Mr Berry

What a Busy Week!

Year 4 received a letter and some items from a secret gardener this week, after Varmints have destroyed all of the local nature. The secret gardener asked us if we can help restore nature by learning all about plants. We have dissected the flowers, and will be planting the seeds and bulbs to help society.

Year 6 have made a solid start to their wider curriculum lessons. For their science unit on living things and their habitats, we started by looking at the conditions for life. We studied a sample of soil to see what living and non living things we could find. Their eagle eyes found many little creatures!

This weeks house winners are Sissay for attendance, and Edwards for behaviour!

Well done for getting the shields 2 weeks in a row, but it was very close this week.
