Garden Project
Children across the school have been growing plants from seed in the classrooms. These have grown successfully and were moved out to Forest School and our 1st Floor Learning Terrace, which has been transformed into a wonderful garden.
This week, some Year 5 children sold the first lot of produce to our families. They sold radishes, spring onions, tomato plants, pea plants and kitchen herbs. Their stock sold out very quickly and managed to raise £73.57 which will be used to buy more resources for the garden.
We are also very delighted that future plants will be grown in compost made from our own food waste. One of our families have a farm and collect our food waste at the end of each day. They are now returning it to us as compost! This is great for the children to follow the full circle of the plants life.
