We just hosted a lovely well-being coffee morning at school! We had a good show of parents who enjoyed getting to know other parents, chatting to Miss Morris our mental health lead, and Mrs Reveley our Deputy and SENCo.
Our wraparound children had fun while taking the school chickens for a little walk to stay healthy.
Both, chickens and children enjoy this exercise.

The following children have been celebrated in our assemblies, for demonstrating an understanding of our Ways of Being – ‘show you care’ ‘do what matters most’ ‘be yourself, always’ and ‘succeed together’.
Congratulations to: Lalaina and Michael, Kagan and Kit, Eryn and Solomiia, Myra and Ezana, Alexis, Isla and Luna, Gabriel, Stevie. Esme and Kairo and Maya. Plus all of Year 4 LB for an amazing Circles lesson.
In our assemblies, Key Stage One have completed their study of Prokofiev’s ‘Peter and the Wolf’ whilst Key Stage Two have been listening to and learning about Vivaldi’s Four Seasons – Autumn.
October is World Mental Health Month! Starting from Tuesday 27th September, we will be showing and playing “Song around the World” tracks in our KS1 and KS2 assemblies.
This is to celebrate the joy of music making, to promote creativity and confidence while learning ‘hands-on’ about music from around the world. Music making and listening is a great way to get endorphins running for many of our children. Ask your children each week about their music assemblies and how the music made them feel.
We have arranged for the Fire Service to come in to give a workshop for parents, to help give advice and guidance on keeping your children safe when near water. As we have so many canals near school, it is important that key safety messages are shared with parents and carers. Come along at 9:00 on Friday 30th for this 30 minute safety talk. The children will then have workshops later in the day.
Monday 3rd October 3:40 to 4:45:
The company ‘Chimp Management’ was founded by Consultant Psychiatrist and best-selling author, Professor Steve Peters. The purpose of the company is to help individuals understand and manage the mind so that they can get the best out of themselves and others. We will be working with Chimp Management over the coming weeks to help pupils in Years three and four to understand how their mind works and how they can manage their emotions and behaviours.
Chimp Management will be hosting an introductory session on the 3rd October for parents, which will introduce The Chimp Model to give you insight into how your mind works and how you can support your child’s psychological well-being.

Check out these lovely photos!
The Year 3 children really enjoyed eating their very delicious home-grown spuds. They had a feast and when the pot was empty they all asked for more. Yummy!

Year 3 grew their own potatoes and they were so excited to harvest. A whole 5 kilograms of delicious home-grown potatoes!
Last week some children made amazing chopping boards out of cedar wood slices in Forest School, using sandpaper and treating them with linseed oil!

We are all devastated by the news of the death of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II. Born on 21st April 1926, and ascending to the throne just after the Second World War, Queen Elizabeth II lived a life of service to her country. The longest-ever reigning monarch, Queen Elizabeth II showed strength, dignity and grace for 70 years. The qualities she chose to live her life by are ones that we can all admire and aspire to.
Her life of service stretched beyond most of our living memories; she is all so many of us have ever known. The passing of such a famous lady – whose face and name is known across our globe – will take time for the nation, the world, to process.
In line with guidance, we will respect this period of national mourning whilst the Crown passes on to King Charles III, to whom we say, in line with tradition “God save the king”
Queen Elizabeth II 1926 to 2022
Some of our year 6 children had Forest School afternoons in the last few weeks of the term, doing some amazing nature art, whittling and cooking forage food over the campfire.
