We had a morning filled with music and singing! Our first ever musicathon – when the whole school came together, with parents and staff, to celebrate the joy of music.
The children sang songs from around the world and brought smiles and happiness to the faces of everyone! Huge thanks to Mrs Mirazi, and to Ken Brown, a trumpet player from the Halle, who came to work with us and our pupils.
Thank you to everyone who attended, you helped us have a very special day!
Our very talented Year 6s did an amazing performance of Shrek.
Take a look at the photos!
We invited members of the Halle orchestra to run workshops for our pupils.
Here our Year 1 pupils work with a violinist to create a soundscape ‘through the forest’
Our children have been studying China as part of our Going Global whole school theme.

As our last week of school approaches, here are notices and activities to look out for:
We are preparing for a heatwave, with temperatures set to soar on Monday and Tuesday. Please ensure that your child comes to school with a full water bottle. Sun cream should be applied at home – our staff are not allowed to apply sun cream. A named sun hat or cap would be useful too. We will shorten the amount of time your child is outside, and keep classrooms as cool as we possibly can.
Clubs: There are no teacher run clubs this week.
With temperatures very high on Monday and Tuesday, we have made the decision to change the Musicathon. Our priority is to keep our pupils safe, whilst keeping as many activities going as possible.
The new plan is this – we will turn the ‘dress rehearsal’ into the ‘final production’. On Monday morning, at 9:20 parents are welcome to join us – but please remember that this is the first time the children have come together as a whole school to sing and make music!
All our Year 6 pupils are invited to a disco on Tuesday 19th at 6:30pm to 7:30pm. Parents are welcome to stay and chat.
Our Year 6 families are invited to the Leavers’ assembly at 9:15 on Friday 22nd July.
Children are welcome to bring a toy to play with during the morning of Friday 22nd. Nothing too precious and nothing electronic.
School starts back on Monday 5th September at 8:50.
Meet the Teacher sessions on Thursday 8th September at 3pm and 4:30pm.
We will be holding two ‘Meet the Teacher’ sessions on Thursday 8th September.
This will be a chance for you to come into the classroom, to sit alongside your children, and for the teacher to run through organisational and academic expectations with you.
We appreciate that not everyone will be able to attend in person, and so one session will be run on Google Meet, as well as the slides being sent out to all parents after the event.
The sessions will be held at 3pm in person, and then at 4:30 via Google meet.
Monday 18th July No teacher run clubs this week.
Monday 18th July Musicathon – parents are welcome to join us at 2pm for a cheerful event of singing and music making outside! Clarifying the date and time

We recently invited our amazing EYFS parents in for a morning writing workshop.
It was a fantastic session and it was great to see so many parents and carers so engaged!
Check out these photos of a presentation from one of our pupil’s mum, who came in to talk about Nigeria as part of our ‘Going Global’ project
She shared lots about Nigerian culture and even showed us some traditional dress!
Thank you so much for coming in a sharing, our pupils had a great time.
Our parents planned, prepared and delivered an outstanding event. Parents and children enjoyed learning about different countries, representing our diverse pupil population.
Fun was had by all, lots of traditional foods were consumed, music, dance, art and culture shared. And a fabulous £380 raised for our Library project!

Manchester Libraries have been in contact with us. There has been an administrative muddle at their end, meaning children across all schools in Manchester are missing cards. The library has now realised that the children with missing cards are those who are already library members. They have said that they won’t be sending new cards to those children as they are already members so they can go to the library as normal to either request a new card or use their current one.
