Welcome from Co-op Academy New Islington

Dear Parents/Carers,

It's been a sporty week at New Islington with our KS2 children representing the school in Dodgeball and at Manchester City's sports festival. We are delighted (but not surprised!) at how our children have excelled and represented the school at both of these events.

We have also had a very positive week from an attendance point of view, averaging 97% across the school for the week. This makes us all at New Islington very happy as a child's attendance being positive is one of the most important factors in their learning and outcomes. We hope this trend continues throughout the rest of the year and beyond!

As always, thank you for your continued support,

Mr Berry

What a Busy Week!

On Wednesday, Miss Ballentine and Mrs Mirazi took 12 children from Year 5 and Year 6 as they represented New Islington at a Co-op Primaries Dodgeball Tournament at Co-op Academy Walkden.

The children succeeded together against some tough competition. Out of the 6 teams, we got a first and third place! Well done to the children, who fantastically represented our school (and continued our winning streak!)

On Friday, 10 Year 3 children visited Manchester City’s Academy to take part in a football festival. They played great games (won 2, drew 1 and lost 1) and represented New Islington well.

It was lovely to see how fantastic the children played together against tough competition.

I think we have some future football stars in the making! Well done!

Year 2 have been working very hard on their homework research topic about pandas. Mrs Mazur has been amazed at the presentation and wide range of facts the children have found out. Here is just a small selection of some of the great work.
