Newsletter 9th May 2025

Here is our newsletter for this week.
Mr Berry's Message.
Dear Parents and Carers,
This week I wanted to congratulate and to make special mention of how well our children have represented the school this year while on educational visits.
We always receive comments from venues and providers that our children's behaviour is exemplary and long may this continue.
As I'm sure all our year 6 parents are aware, next week is KS2 SATs week and I want to wish our year 6 pupils the best of luck.
We know they are going to do their best and we are very proud of all of them!
Kind Regards,
Mr Berry
Year 3 Mosque Visit
As part of our school curriculum, year 3 visited Manchester Central Mosque. The visit included an introductory session on the history and key teachings of Islam, the children learnt about the 5 pillars of Islam presented by an Imam.
Following the introduction, children were taken on a guided tour of the mosque where they were encouraged to ask lots of questions!
Both classes had fantastic visits and were praised for their impeccable behaviour and curiosity!
School Garden Project
Many of you may remember last year, we were very lucky to have Jason, the Cloud Gardener, work with our school as they donated 2 of his show gardens from the RHS Urban Show.
Jason has been back to see how our garden is looking and spoke with Mrs Mirazi about the positive impact this has had throughout the school for staff and students alike.

Mrs Williams Book Recommendation

The Monsters of Rookhaven By Padraig Kenny
|
I did not know what to expect from The Monsters of Rookhaven, but I loved it and it may have made me shed a tear or two. This is the story of Mirabelle who is a monster. In Fact her whole family are monsters brought together by magic and living together in a gothic mansion. When a gap in the magic protecting the family from being seen appears, two human siblings find themselves in a world very different from their own. However there is an evil presence waiting, a monster that even monsters fear. This is a wonderfully gothic, funny and heartwarming story which makes the monsters feel like old friends. Piglet in particular stole my heart. For ages 10 and above. |
