Year 3 and 4 grew sunflowers from seed this year.

Children helped harvest the flower heads , picking out all the seeds so we can use them for breadmaking, treats for our school chickens, wild bird food for the winter months and some seeds to grow new flowers next year. 

The children loved the experience of the seed-picking and the amazing scent of the flower heads!
