Happy Holiday to all of our families!

We wish everyone a very happy holiday, and a successful 2023. We pass on our thanks for the generosity shown to us all – gifts are never expected and we appreciate the thought and kindness from you all. 

A few notices: 

Freezing weather:

Please be extra careful when it is so icy. The pavements, pathways, cobbled streets and marina walkways are super slippery. No-one must ever walk onto the frozen canals and waterways. 

Staffing:

We say our goodbyes to Miss Streeter (EYFS) and Miss Marshall (Year 1), Miss Gumiel (Teaching Assistant and Spanish Teacher) and to Kevin (Wraparound playworker). We welcome Miss Iqbal (EYFS) and Miss Lockyer (Year 1) to our teaching team. Miss Santana will continue the Spanish teaching following in the footsteps of Miss Gumiel, and Gosia will replace Kevin on our Playworker team. We wish our leavers much happiness in their next adventures, and we welcome our new starters.

Friday 6th January	Year 5 classes start ‘Project Chameleon’, which is a 10-week program delivered by ex-Police Officer trainers. Our pupils will learn about different aspects of law and crime, helping them to make positive choices going forward. This complements many different aspects of our curriculum.

Wednesday 1st February	Time to Talk DayTime to Talk Day is the nation’s biggest conversation about mental health and takes place in February 2023. Conversations have the power to change lives, helping to create supportive communities where we can talk openly about mental health and feel empowered to seek help when we need it. Look out for further information nearer the time

Notes Children should come to school on Forest School days in the appropriate clothing and footwear. As the winter approaches, a warm waterproof coat is essential as the children go out in any weather.  Please refer to letters previously sent home or ask your child’s teacher for clarification.
